DESCRIPTION: Tremco Incorporated is investing $5 million in a top-to-bottom renovation of its own headquarters, originally built in 1970, that will transform the building into a showcase of sustainability. The project is estimated to reduce gas usage by 84% and electric usage by 43% while keeping approximately 75% of all material removed out of landfills. Tremco will seek LEED Gold certification for the facility.

DESCRIPTION: Helping the United States Army Reserve (USARC) meet the federal mandate to reduce energy consumption and eliminate roof leaks was Tremco's primary goal. Plus, occupants had long complained of excessive roof leaks and extreme temperature conditions. Tremco implemented a solution that stopped leaks and, with the help of a daylighting system, reduced energy costs by 35%.

DESCRIPTION: With twelve layers of paint and the once-dramatic windows filled in, this landmark building could hardly be called an architectural gem. The solutions was Dryvit's Outsulation® System with a Custom Brick finish, which was $85,000 less than restoration and allowed the bank to stay open during the renovation.

DESCRIPTION: : During its expansion, a main concern for Children's Hospital was the design and installation of an exterior facade. Any breakdown in the assemblage could lead to deterioration of building envelope components, increased energy consumption and a negative impact on the indoor air quality. Tremco implemented a new approach to sustainable building envelope design that provided the solution to meet the hospital's requirements.

PROJECT NAME: Office of Thrift Supervision, Washington, DC

DESCRIPTION: With little maintenance performed over the past thirty years, the OTS building had significant problems with its entire building envelope. Repairs included restoration of the building's limestone facade, replacement of all sealants, and replacement of all inverted roof membranes and pavers. Completing the project was the Tremco Performance Warranty, which provides the OTS with a risk-free building envelope solution.

DESCRIPTION: Energy code required that the renovation of the library, originally built in 1915, include an air barrier to control air and moisture flow, protect the new structure and its occupants and increase energy efficiency. Tremco's air barrier system provided assurance at every transition, tie-in and overlap. Though reminiscent of the past, Needham Public Library is now energy-efficient, occupant-friendly and ready for the next century.
